Acala (Sanskrit: अचल "immovable") is a dharmapala primarily revered in Vajrayana Buddhism. This "immovable" means unshakable kindness. Acala is said to be a powerful deity who protects all by burning away all impediments and defilements, thus aiding people towards enlightenment.
Acala is symbol of sense and wisdom. He is classed among the Wisdom Kings and preeminent among the Five Wisdom Kings of the Womb Realm.
